Yessssssssss !I can help you !
I'm a french guide and i'm specialised in some disctricts, some tipical subjects such as the "tuiles de l'Estaque + St Henry".
The foundations of these industries took place in the middle of the 19th Century ... around 1860.
It was in the Seon Valley especially, that means in the north of the town of Marseille, far away from the center ....
It was a real big and rich industry.
People who worked there came from the surroundings of Marseille especially.
The "tuiles" were made in big buildings where you had different grounds : each of them were specialised in something.
For exemple, on the ground floor, you had the owen and it was the ground where you had only men. On the firts floor, there were the "tuiles" which were layed for drying and it was the "women's land"...
There was one man who worked on the firt floor and he was supposed to know cvery well the winds so that he could open or close the 300 windows (for the big buildings) depending on the strongness of the wind to dry the "tuiles".
.... Well ! If you want i can help you by sending you some researches that i have made about it !
You must know that these "tuiles" were exported everywhere in the world because of their special quality !
Maybe we can write some MP ! Private messages so that we can have our Email box to share our knowledges !
Good luck !
